Bike Tour and Malaysia Street
Salam everyone, just sharing my latest solo trip to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam last week. I stayed in Ben Thanh area, there is a street known as Malaysia street where there are plenty of halal restaurants and just next to Ben Thanh market for shopping. I booked a bike tour exploring the city and it was the cheapest and most efficient way to beat the traffic. I also went to My Tho City and the Mekong River Delta to explore the Vietnamese rural life. It was a really lovely learning experience and felt safe as a solo hijabi tourist. Of course you need to be sensible anywhere and ensure that I came back to the hotel by 10pm. Currently it is off season in Vietnam so there weren’t as many tourists which was perfect.
Yes! It's called Nguyen Anh Ninh Street known as Malaysia Street. The sellers here and waiters at the restaurants all can speak Malay. Surprisingly some sellers accept MYR as well.
Mekong Delta is so on my bucketlist ive been to Damnoen Saduak in Thai so curious on what’s the difference! thank u for sharing how u felt safe and all. Ehehe i have heard sooooo much good things about Vietnam and how polite they are and the bike tour! Plus i think Vietnam is much cheaper than touristy Thailand, again based on research not sure how it is cause havent been but ur post is moving Vietnam up on if not mine for sure many of our next-to-go here hehe.
