Welcome to Muslim Solo Travel (“MST”, “we”, “us”), a community and directory for Muslim women who travel solo, run by Ruhfar Sdn Bhd, Level 15 dPulze, Cyberjaya 63000, Malaysia.

By using muslimsolotravel.com, creating an account, listing a service or posting anything here, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The short version

• MST is for Muslim women aged 18 or older.
• Be kind, stay on topic (traveling solo as a Muslimah) and post in English.
• You are responsible for your own meetups, travel buddies, bookings and agreements. We are not liable for what happens between members, or between you and a host.
• Hosts and businesses listed on MST are independent. We aren’t a travel agent and we aren’t part of your booking.
• You keep ownership of what you post, and you give Ruhfar Sdn Bhd a licence to use it (see below).
• Always check official government and health sources before you travel.

1. Who can join

• Member accounts are for Muslim women aged 18 or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are.
• Host and business accounts are reviewed by us before their pages go live.
• Give true information, keep your password safe and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for everything done through it.
• Please report any profile that seems to be a man, a fake account or someone under 18. We’ll remove it.

2. Community rules

These are the same rules as our Facebook groups, so the whole MST community feels the same everywhere.

Stay on topic

Share content about traveling solo as a Muslim woman. MST isn’t the place for family travel, honeymoons, politics or unrelated topics. Off-topic posts, reviews, requests and comments will be declined or removed.

Be kind, and post in English

We’re building a safe, welcoming, no-judgment space together. When you disagree, do it politely and respectfully. No personal attacks, bullying, sarcasm, degrading or offensive behaviour. Please write in English so every sister can understand.

Give more than you take

Use MST to add to your own research, not to replace it. Ask specific questions that MSTers who’ve been there can answer best.

No self-promotion, surveys or fundraising

Don’t promote yourself, your business, blog, app or a favourite tour operator in reviews, Q&A answers, requests or comments, and don’t post links for promotion. Crowdsourcing, market research, surveys and fundraising aren’t allowed.

Businesses can be on MST the proper way: with a host page or listing (see List with us). For partnerships, email hello@muslimsolotravel.com.

Travel buddy, meetup and hosting requests

Post requests to find a travel buddy, meet up, host, house-sit or swap homes in the Requests section, not in reviews or Q&A.

No unsolicited messages

Share information openly so the whole community benefits. Don’t ask members to message you privately, and don’t contact or friend-request members unless they’ve invited you to (for example, by posting a request). Unsolicited messages, solicitation and recruitment lead to removal.

Respect everyone’s privacy

Being part of MST takes mutual trust. Don’t copy members’ posts, photos or personal details elsewhere, and never share someone else’s location, contact details or photos without their consent.

3. You are responsible for your own connections and meetups

MST helps Muslim women find each other, and find hosts, but every meetup, travel buddy arrangement, hosting, house-sit, house swap, pickup, booking and private agreement is between you and the other person only.

• We don’t check members’ identities or backgrounds, and we don’t supervise or attend meetups.
• We are not and cannot be held responsible for private agreements to connect, meet, travel together, share, use or exchange information, money or property.
• To the fullest extent the law allows, Ruhfar Sdn Bhd isn’t liable for any injury, loss, theft, damage, cost, delay, cancellation or bad experience arising from a meetup, a connection made through MST, or a booking with a host or provider.
• Use your judgment: meet in public places, tell someone you trust where you’ll be, never share your room number or live location, and follow the safety tips on each request.

4. Hosts, listings and bookings

• Hosts, guides, drivers, stays, retreats and other providers listed on MST are independent businesses or individuals. They aren’t our employees or agents.
• MST isn’t a travel agent or tour operator. When you book, the contract is between you and the provider, on their terms. Prices, availability, cancellations and refunds are set by them.
• Badges such as “MST Friendly” or “Verified” show what we checked at the time. They’re not a guarantee of safety, quality or the provider’s conduct.
• Price estimates in other currencies are approximate. The provider’s own price is the one that counts.
• Hosts must keep their pages accurate, honest and up to date, hold any licences or insurance their work needs, and follow local law.

5. Paid plans and the shop

Host plans, listings and shop products are paid through our payment partners. Price, what’s included, billing period and refund terms are shown before you pay and form part of these terms. Unless the law says otherwise, or the checkout page says so, fees already paid aren’t refundable. We may change plan prices for future billing periods, and we’ll tell you before that happens.

6. Your content

• You keep ownership and credit of what you post: reviews, photos, videos, requests, Q&A answers, comments, listings and alerts.
• By posting, you give Ruhfar Sdn Bhd (MST’s parent company) a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show, edit for length or clarity, translate, share and reuse that content on muslimsolotravel.com, ruhfar.com, our magazine, newsletters and social channels, and to use it to develop our products and services, in line with our Privacy Policy.
• Reviews show as “Verified MSTer” unless you choose to show your name.
• Only post what’s yours, or what you have permission to share. Get people’s consent before posting photos of them, and remove location data from photos first.
• If you don’t want your content used this way, please don’t post it. You can ask us to remove your content at any time.

7. Not official advice

MST content comes from community members, hosts and our team. It’s for general information and may be out of date. We’re not an official health, government or legal resource. Always check official government and health sites for visas, vaccinations, border rules, eligibility, safety and on-the-ground conditions. Travel alerts on MST are shared by members and checked by us, but may not be complete.

8. Affiliate links and ads

Some links are affiliate links: we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We may show ads on content pages. A link or ad isn’t an endorsement, and the partner’s own terms apply.

9. Things you must not do

• Break the law, or post anything false, misleading, hateful, sexual, violent or that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Pretend to be someone else, create fake reviews or review your own business.
• Scrape, copy or resell MST content or member data, send spam, or try to break or overload the site.

10. Moderation and removal

We review reviews, requests, claims, recommended services and alerts before they go live. We may decline, edit or remove any content, and suspend or remove any account, that breaks these terms or puts the community at risk, with or without notice. Please don’t message us about declined posts: we give feedback where we can. Report problems using the report link on each page or by email.

11. Limitation of liability

MST is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it accurate and safe, but we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or complete. To the fullest extent the law allows, Ruhfar Sdn Bhd and its team aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by members, hosts, providers or third-party sites. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.

You agree to cover Ruhfar Sdn Bhd for claims and costs caused by your content, your listings, or your breach of these terms.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as MST grows. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell members if the changes are significant. Continuing to use MST means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.
