First solo trip: Melbourne or Japan?
Salam Everyone! I’m planning to take my first solo trip somewhere sometime in August and the countries I intend to visit is Australia Melbourne or Japan! Can anyone share their solo experience in the places I mentioned or do you have any recommendations? Can’t wait to hear from you guys!

MSTer: Melbourne's weather is quite erratic, so always bring an umbrella with you! I highly recommend mornington peninsula if you enjoy coastal areas. For Japan, it will be peak summer in August. Good thing is Japan is quite a muslim friendly place (they have prayer rooms available near places of attractions and sometimes, even train stations). Kamakura and Fujikawaguchiko are towns I would recommend! You can take a day trip out of Tokyo or stay 1-2 nights. Both Melbourne and Japan are good choices but as a solo traveller, I would start with Japan as nature-based attractions are more easily accesible than in Melbourne.
MSTer: Went to Perth solo and it was honestly quite boring hehe Still good if you just want to chill and take it slow. But if you’re the adventurous kind, or want to have more options of things to do and see, Melbourne is amazing! Lots of students, easy to find halal food and convenient to get around with public transportation, and there’s options for join-in tours to see the highlights that are further away from the city (like Great Ocean Road).
MSTer: I have been travelling solo for a few years. I am currently in Tauranga, New Zealand for next 2-3 months. You are welcome to join me and I can host you. I have a spare bedroom.
