Bali, Lombok & Flores — Muslim-friendly tips?
Assalam aleikoum ladies! Hope everyone is doing well.I’m looking into travelling into Indonesia in the coming months and visiting Bali/lombok and potentially flores islands. Would be great to receive tips and advice on which places are easy to travel to and are muslim friendly. Read that flores island is mostly christian populated.Thank you!!!

Flores ppls are lovely even though mostly they are non Moslem but will treat us equal n nice, if they offer their traditional drink name Sopi just politely said as moslem we don't drink alcohol as Sopi contain of it, make sure to do Jamak for Dzuhur and Ashar in Bali or Flores as less Masjid suround, not as much like in Lombok. Halal food can be spotted by the name, mostly Warung Banyuwangi or Warung nasi padang are serve halal foods. Enjoy Indonesia, you will love it . Let me know if you need other info
MST team: v interesting. In borneo this sopi drink is equivalent to Tuak! If one visits the long house it is customary / hospitality to give visitors. Esp during gawai harvest festival where long houses are open to public to visit on june 1st and 2nd each year. My father long ago, took it, and poured it outside the windows when nobodys looking ive been to long house too and they also tried to serve me, saying “its okay, there are people like you (who wear hijab n i was the only one in the entire entourage) that tried. we will keep it between us. A secret”. But i politely said no thank you hehehe
MSTer: This is super helpful, thank you! I’m now doubting about Bali, especially regarding the stray dogs. Are there really a lot and dangerous? I’m scared of dogs and worried they will sense my fear any tips otherwise what is best to stay? I’m flying back home from Bali, so could otherwise also just stay lesser days at end of trip and spend more days on Lombok
