Went to Dubai & Abu Dhabi with Daughter for 12 days
Salam sister, I went to Dubai and Abu dhabi with my daughter in March last year for 12 days. Once you passed Dubai immigration, First you have to buy a simcard for the map and the taxi booking. you can buy the train ticket upfront in airport too.First you have to download Careem app for taxi booking, but lately Grab just approved in Dubai.
WhatsApp calls is banned in UAE so you have to download BOTIM for easy access communication to your love ones in your country. The immigration officer will also give you a simcard with 1 or 2 GB, but we bought simcards there for me and my daughter, just incase the ones from immigration run out.we bought big bus tour around Dubai and AbuDhabi. it’s very easy.
BigBus will take you to every tourist destinations, and you can choose to get off wherever and whenever you want, there will always be the next bigbus arrive every 30mins. The BB staff will explain to you too. Dubai BigBus to Abudhabi stops at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and from there you can wonder around enjoying the mosque as long as you want, but watch out for the timing. if you miss the bigbus the other tour bus will help you and send you to the city. Don’t be shy to ask for help to the people there. They will help. For this, you will need the map to your hotel to show to the tour bus driver.
We love staying at different hotels in Dubai, all are in downtown, face to Burj Khalifa. We stayed at the Atana, Millenium Central Downtown and Gevora hotel. Gevora is the tallest hotel in Dubai where we can enjoy the view from the top of Gevora restaurant. my daughter refused to enter Burj Khalifa because we already stayed at the tallest hotel building according to Guinness World Records although nearly 500m shorter than BK.We enjoyed sitting in the restaurant to watch the dancing water fountain in-front of the Burj Khalifa. We booked the hotel just one day before arriving Dubai and Abudhabi and it’s not that expensive around $150. Maybe we were lucky.
Our hotel in AbuDhabi was in the city, Royal Rose plaza where you can find many restaurants and near the Abu Dhabi shopping mall and walk back to the hotel but you’ll need a map. All restaurants in Dubai and AbuDhabi are halal. Non halal Shake shack and din tai Fung restaurant in Singapore are also halal. We tried whichever non halal restaurants in Singapore there.
In Abudhabi, we visited the grand mosque off course, the village, the presidential palace, the Louvre museum. You can do all in one day. you need to stay at least two nights in AbuDhabi. Grand mosque and presidential palace are really huge and great. If you want to visit the museum of the future in Dubai, you will have to make an online booking beforehand or you can check the ticket in the hotel you are staying because the ticket is fast sold.
We didn’t get a chance to enter the museum of the future though.Abudhabi is quiet city compared to Dubai but safe too. I met some lady tourists from Russia traveling alone too. We met on BigBus. Because you are alone so avoid walking in the quiet area at night in UAE, don’t forget reciting Zikir in your heart when you walk. Hope it’s useful.
Lady-driven taxis at airport
There are lady driven taxis at the airport that you can take to your accomodation. Make sure you have the exact address of your airbnb. You can use the metro to travel around. Attractions: global village, trip to the desert, miracle garden and butterfly park, heritage village, gold souk, spice souk, dubai museum. Take the abra to cross to Deira.
You will love it. Enjoy. It’s safe for Muslimah solo travelers
I live in Dubai and can say that there is absolutely no reason to be nervous at all, I am sure you will have a great time! The weather is perfect at the moment as well.I will echo sister on the list of attractions in her comment. For your first time, these are definitely the most popular places to visit. I would also recommend trying out some of the water activities on the beach
Metro is cheaper.
Take the metro it’s cheaper. Do the beach not only the main attractions. Try different food cause it’s all goodGo to a mosque for prayer. Most importantly, have fun and take pictures
Post-trip
It was absolutely amazing!!!!!!
