Almost canceled my trip but luckily didn’t!
My solo trip to Poland! I had a few reservations going here to a point where I wanted to cancel my trip as people were telling me it’s racist etc- boy were they wrong! I had a great experience as a hijabi and there were other Muslims and POC travelling there too!
I stayed in Krakow and it is sooo clean compared to many cities including the UK!! It is so pretty there and most people were friendly and it was easy to get about the city.
(Do recommend research how to use the public transport-as I got confused unless I used the app on my phone) food-they had halal and vegetarian options too. And the chocolates were sooo amazing!! I explored the old town, Wawel Castle area, joined a walking tour to explore Kazimierz, went to Auschwitz and Zakopane. It’s a place I would go back to.

Just be your happy self
Happy to read you had a good time, Alhamdulilah • thanks! I do recommend and not to listen to negative feedback lol
Never do that! Just be your happy self
On Halal & Alcohol
I would say some places do have the halal sign regarding food, but not everything they serve is halal, so do confirm exactly what you can have. If you get chocolates, double check it doesn’t have alcohol.

How many days should one be in Poland?
Thanks for posting your lovely pictures. Looks like you had a fab time! I’ve been looking at Gdańsk. I also looked into Zakopane which looks really pretty. How many days did you go for? How did you find Auschwitz? How did you get to Zakopane? Thank you
4d3n was my experience
I went for 3 nights and 4 days. Auschwitz is as we know it to be, but some parts of the experience is stuck in my head. I do recommend if you’re interested in history. I got to Zakopane by a driver however there are buses going there directly (flixbus) from Krakow bus station and I think it works out cheaper and you are not limited to time.

How did you get around?
mostly walked within the city-as everything is close by or used trams. Auschwitz-I booked bus ticket through Lajkonik. Zakopane through tripadvisor.
City Mapper > Google Maps
Thank you for sharing. I’ve been wanting to explore, but I’m contemplating as I’m not sure about racism there. What app did you use to get around the city?
I mainly used google maps and city mapper. But I think city mapper is a little bit better. For public transport I used jakdojade-but the ticket only works on trams and buses for a limited amount of time.
alhamdulillah I faced no racism and I felt the same before I got there too.
