When we first started, Farihah was a travel blogger and IG was her avenue. But then she realized her experiences can be one-sided as MSTers are diverse. So we made the transition to open up our main Muslimah Solo Travelers Community FB Group. With more demand, we also introduced our Connect sub-group to facilitate MSTers connections in real life.

Now that we have two active FB community groups, there is simply no need to have IG anymore. Plus, we’re also (rarely) on TikTok!

Who here has social fatigue? *us too*

Since we established our community groups, we have transitioned our IG followers to join our FB groups. So now, four years later, our transition is COMPLETE.

But the IG is still there?

Yes, correct, but it’s just to direct those who find us on IG to the real deal, our Community and Connect Groups. If you find us on IG, know that you’re the OG MSTers.

Findings from MST Survey 2025

Before we get to this year’s gathering relaunch theme of Alignment. The why, the how and the everything, it is important that we understand the findings from our recent MST Survey.

This survey was up from March till September this year.

Oh, some MSTers also shared that they wanted to see more of “booking.com” style reviews on the website.

From the findings of this survey, we decided to do an overhaul of the website. With the precedent of AI becoming the norm these days, the timing felt right. So sayonara our old long-form articles.

MST 3.0: The website now houses community conversations

Salam to community conversation archives on the website. As a resource for #MuslimahSoloTravelers, we’re simplifying how you search. Sometimes the same question has been asked time and time again in the community. So to centralize everything, we’re archiving them on the website. Plus, who has time to scroll so much?

If you have browsed around the website, you’ll discover that most of the posts are locked. Why? Because these are private conversations (+photos / videos) that you ladies have shared previously in the community. But they are gems, guiding light to another MSTer.

To maintain the privacy that we are committed to, we have decided to put a paywall for these conversations. At a minimal cost with amazing perks. Stay tuned for the perks below. Like we’ve mentioned earlier in our Alignment invitation,

What about the usual newsletters?

I miss old newsletters!

– some responses from our MST Survey 2025.

Moving forward, we will no longer be doing weekly personal newsletter like how we used to do. Those were memorable times, indeed.

Slowly, these newsletters will make their comeback in the form of archive posts on the website. Again, only visible to subscribed members (more details as you read on).

For subscribed members, you will be getting guaranteed once-a-month newsletter from us (and occassionally others if necessary sometimes from automations or account maintenance notifications). Since we are all fatigued with digital, we don’t want to bother you too much.

MST is also run by volunteers and we have our own real jobs that we have to attend to.
