Why Aerotel KLIA2 is a Great Transit Hotel for Solo Travelers! [Review]
As a solo female traveler, transit hotels are a lifesaver when it comes to long layovers! Recently, I got to stay at Aerotel KLIA2 in between my 9-hour layover from Kuala Lumpur to Dubai.
It was my first time at Aerotel KLIA2 and definitely not my last!
KLIA2 has a decent amount of affordable sleeping facilities and amenities for you to relax if you have a long layover between KLIA & KLIA2.
If youâre asking âwhere can I stay overnight at KLIA2?â, Aerotel KLIA2 is one to look out for.

How do I get to Aerotel Kuala Lumpur?
Go to Level 2M at Gateway@klia2 mall. Aerotel KLIA2 is located just at the landslide, in the heart of KLIA2. You wouldnât miss it.

Flexible Hour Booking
The great thing about Aerotel is that they have flexible hour booking. During my stay there, they also allowed me to check in at my preferred time.
Pretty convenient!
Thereâs no worrying about waiting at a cafe, or somewhere else for hours before checking in.
Solo Room Aerotel KLIA2
During my stay at Aerotel Kuala Lumpur, I chose the Solo Room as my accommodation of choice.

Might be unrelated, but one thing that I love about Aerotel is that they gave Colgate as my toothpaste! Iâve been to a number of hotels and rarely would they give this brand as toothpaste.

Aerotel KLIA2 vs Capsule Transit Hotel KLIA2
When it comes to transit accommodation at KLIA2, Aerotel and Capsule Transit Hotels are the only two hotels located within the terminal.
I have stayed at both hotels. So here are my verdict as a Muslim solo traveler for the both of them:
Capsule Transit Hotel

- Perfect for you to stay for a couple of hours. The capsule provides enough room just for sleeping and napping, so it is best if you have checked in your luggage earlier because…
- Luggage needs to be stored at outside lockers in Capsule Transit so it might be a hassle if you want to arrange your belongings as there is no space to do so in your private capsule.
- Surau (Praying room) is located outside, opposite Capsule Transit so thereâs the extra need to wear hijab, and slippers for Muslimah to pray.
- Shared bathroom (separate genders). But during my time, I didnât bump into anyone at the bathroom.
- Located at the Transportation Hub, further away from Departure Halls, but nearer to Arrivals.
- Very affordable alternative. If youâre on a budget, go for Capsule Transit.
Aerotel KLIA2
- Perfect if you want a private space that gives you access to your luggage and extra legroom.
- Shared bathroom for certain rooms. I also didnât bump into anyone while taking a shower outside, opposite my room.
- Some family rooms here offer ensuite showers. So if you want total privacy, this might be the best option to consider compared to the Solo Room.
- In terms of affordability, I would say it is moderate, as it slightly more expensive than the former accommodation.
- 1-minute walk to Departure Halls, Food Court, KLIA Express and KLIA transit.

Wait… if your next flight is in KLIA, why did you go all the way to KLIA2?
Well, because Sama-Sama Express KLIA is the only transit hotel located within KLIA.
On a normal rate, the room at Sama-Sama Express KLIA can cost from about RM400/night (which is a lot if youâre on a budget like me).
But if money is not an issue, by all means, go for Sama-Sama Express KLIA!
Going from KLIA to KLIA2
Navigating from KLIA to KLIA2 is easy.
One-way KLIA transit ticket from KLIA to KLIA2 costs RM2. But if you buy from their website rather than from the counter, you might get a discounted price.
